Luke 12:37-40. There will be special favor for those who are ready and waiting for his return... But whenever he comes, there will be special favor for his servants who are ready! 39 "Know this: A homeowner who knew exactly when a burglar was coming would not permit the house to be broken into. 40 You must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected."
Significant Happenings:
#1--Yesterday, I had a very good day from a God-standpoint. I had quite a few cancellations on the FMC schedule, freeing me up to talk and arrange appointments for an Arlene Walker, a paranoid schizophrenic with chronic abdominal pain. She is going to be a difficult patient, but she sees me her "PCP sent by God to take care of her." I also had time to tune up a patient's (Angela Hernandez) asthmatic bronchitis and DM so that we could hopefully keep her out of the hospital. It seems that the LORD cleared my schedule so that I could adequately take care of their complex problems.
#2--TREADMILL MOMENT--Wait on the LORD!! Patience and humility are the "watchwords" for what he is doing in my life with First Med Clinic and the Presbyterian Church. My friend Ken Morse said that it appeared that with the changes going on in my church life, I was checking my ego at the door and relying on the Lord's judgment for what will happen in my life. PATIENCE / Wait on the LORD!!
This week's THE UPPER ROOM title is: "Patience"
A quote from this week's lesson:
"And Friends, though you may have tasted of the power and been convinced and have felt the light, yet afterwards you feel winter storms, tempests, and hail, and be frozen, in frost and cold and a wilderness and temptations. Be patient and still in the power and still in the light that doth convince you, to keep yours minds to God; in that be quiet, that you may come to the summer, that your flight be not in the winter. For if you sit still in the patience which overcomes in the power of God, there will be no flying." Amen."
"Live today in Christ's presence, remembering He is near--be patient."
"Discipline is the price for Freedom."
